چکیده

An important operation in geometry processing is finding the correspondences between pairs of shapes. The Gromov-Hausdorff distance, a measure of dissimilarity between metric spaces, has been found to be highly useful for nonrigid shape comparison. Here, we explore the applicability of related shape similarity measures to the problem of shape correspondence, adopting spectral type distances. We propose to evaluate the spectral kernel distance, the spectral embedding distance and the novel spectral quasi-conformal distance, comparing the manifolds from different viewpoints. By matching the shapes in the spectral domain, important attributes of surface structure are being aligned. For the purpose of testing our ideas, we introduce a fully automatic framework for finding intrinsic correspondence between two shapes. The proposed method achieves state-of-the-art results on the Princeton isometric shape matching protocol applied, as usual, to the TOSCA and SCAPE benchmarks. 1 ar X iv :1 31 1. 55 95 v1 [ cs .C V ] 1 8 N ov 2 01 3

Nonrigid Shape and Motion from Multiple Perspective Views

We consider the problem of nonrigid shape and motion recovery from point correspondences in multiple perspective views. It is well known that the constraints among multiple views of a rigid shape are multilinear on the image points and can be reduced to bilinear (epipolar) and trilinear constraints among two and three views, respectively. In this paper, we generalize this classic result by show...

Automatic Mutual Nonrigid Registration of Dense Surface Models by Graphical Model based Inference

Fully automatic nonrigid registration of shapes is highly desired for computer vision and medical image processing. For a nonrigid registration between two shapes ShapeA and ShapeB, the ultimate goal should be to find the correspondence between subparts of the two shapes instead of to achieve a perfect match by applying a forced deformation without constraints on the objects. Such a corresponde...

Nonrigid Point Correspondence Recovery for Planar Curves Using Fourier Decomposition

A novel method of point correspondence recovery between planar curves is presented in this paper where motion between the curves is nonrigid. Fourier transformation is used to decompose planar curves into a set of ellipses, each at a different frequency level. The point correspondences between two planar curves is based on the correspondences between two ellipses in the same frequency level. At...

Structure and Nonrigid Motion Analysis from 2d Images

Structure and nonrigid motion analysis is a very important problem in computer vision. Most of the work in nonrigid motion analysis thus far has aimed at correspondence estimation from the complete structure of the scene (stereo or range), \optic ow" analysis of image sequences, or 2D image registrations. Limited study has been conducted to track both structure and nonrigid motion at the same t...

Physically-Based Combinations of Views: Representing Rigid and Nonrigid Motion

Nonrigid motion can be described as morphing or blending between extremal shapes, e.g., heart motion can be described as transitioning between the systole and diastole states. Using physically-based modeling techniques, shape similarity can be measured in terms of forces and strain. This provides a physically-based coordinate system inwhichmotion is characterized in terms of physical similarity...
